68th anniversary of the Siege of Leningrad

The International Longevity centre had a reception to commemorate this event on 27 January 2012. Former Leningrad, present St.Petersburg, was besieged by Nazi for 900 days during the WWII.

The Director General of The Scientific Center of Construction and Fire Safety, Mrs. Alla Fedorovna Eremia was invited to this event.

Welcome speeches were given by Mr Ardashev, the President of the united companies “Safe planet”, who thanked all the veterans for their work and service protecting our motherland from fascism.

Mrs Eremina gave a speech on behalf of all veterans lived through the siege. In her speech she recalled difficult times she lived as a little girl.  Four years ago she published a book “fighting for the place under the sun”. There is a part in the book dedicated to the siege. Now Mrs Eremina is working at the second part of the book where she is going to describe the siege days.

The siege of Leningrad is one of the longest and desperate blockades ever happened in the history.

Leningrad is the hero city, the symbol of courage and constancy.
